Prompt tracking is the day-to-day core of Genseo. Each prompt is a real question your buyers ask in AI assistants. Genseo re-runs those prompts on a schedule and stores results so you can see trends, not one-off screenshots.

Add prompts

  1. Open your project AI Visibility area.
  2. Add prompts in natural language (comparisons, recommendations, “best tool for …”).
  3. Use tags or clusters if your workspace supports grouping related prompts.
  4. Respect your plan prompt quota.
Good prompts mirror buyer intent, not only branded keywords.

Read results

  • Overview: Aggregate visibility, mention counts, and trend charts.
  • Prompt detail: Per-prompt history, model breakdown, and latest responses where stored.
  • Filters: Active vs archived prompts, visibility bands, and status.
Archived prompts keep history; restoring does not automatically start a new paid run unless you request tracking.

Improve your rank for a prompt

  1. Compare your visibility to competitors on that prompt.
  2. Inspect cited sources: which pages models trust today.
  3. Fix site issues in Site health that block citations or clarity.
  4. Create or update on-site content and third-party mentions aligned with the prompt (optional articles).
There is no single “rank #1” button: Genseo shows where you stand; your content and brand work closes the gap.

Agents and ChatGPT

Connected assistants should read stored results by default. Starting a new tracking run from chat requires explicit user confirmation. See Genseo ChatGPT app and genseo_visibility_* tools in MCP tool reference.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add prompts to track in Genseo?

Open your project AI Visibility area, add natural-language prompts buyers would ask (for example best tools or category comparisons), and stay within your plan prompt quota.

How do I become number one for a prompt in AI answers?

Genseo shows visibility, competitors, and citations; it does not auto-rank you first. Improve by publishing citable pages, fixing site health issues, earning mentions on sources models already cite, and aligning content with the prompt intent.

Do archived prompts delete history?

No. Archiving stops active tracking display but keeps historical runs. Restoring does not automatically start a paid tracking run unless you request one.

Can an AI agent start tracking from ChatGPT?

Agents should read stored data by default. Starting a new tracking run from chat should follow user confirmation because it may consume quota.
