Overview

This guide walks you through creating and publishing your first article in Genseo. You’ll connect an integration, add keywords, generate content, review it, and publish—all in a few minutes.

Step 1: Connect an Integration

Before you can publish articles, connect Genseo to your website.

For Webflow Users

  1. Generate a Webflow API token in your Webflow account settings
  2. In Genseo, go to SettingsIntegrations
  3. Click Connect Webflow and paste your API token
  4. Select your site and map your CMS fields

For Shopify Users

  1. Install the Genseo app from the Shopify App Store
  2. Grant the necessary permissions
  3. Select your blog collection in Genseo

Step 2: Add Keywords

  1. Navigate to the Keywords section in Genseo
  2. Click Add Keyword
  3. Enter a keyword that matches your target audience’s search intent
  4. Click Save

Step 3: Generate an Article

  1. Go to the Articles section
  2. Click Generate Article next to one of your keywords
  3. Review the article brief and adjust settings if needed:
    • Tone of voice
    • Article length
    • Target audience
  4. Click Generate
Genseo will create a complete, SEO-optimized article based on your keyword and settings.

Step 4: Review the Article

  1. Read through the generated content
  2. Check for accuracy and alignment with your brand voice
  3. Make edits as needed using the built-in editor
  4. Verify SEO elements like headings and keyword placement
Don’t skip the review step. Even AI-generated content benefits from human oversight to ensure it matches your brand and is factually accurate.

Step 5: Publish

Once you’re satisfied with the article:
  1. Click Publish (or Schedule if you want to publish later)
  2. Select your publishing destination (Webflow or Shopify)
  3. Review the preview
  4. Confirm publication
The article will be published to your site automatically.

Common Issues

Article generation fails

  • Check that your keyword is specific enough
  • Ensure you have available article credits
  • Try regenerating with different settings

Publishing fails

  • Verify your integration is properly connected
  • Check that required CMS fields are mapped correctly
  • Ensure you have publish permissions in your Webflow/Shopify account
