# Opportunities

> Prioritized AEO and GEO tasks in Genseo. Mark items open, done, or declined as you close visibility and site gaps.

Opportunities turn visibility and site data into a **short list of tasks** your team can execute to improve AI search presence (AEO/GEO). Each opportunity has context, priority, and a status you control.

## How to use them

1. Open **Opportunities** in your project.
2. Sort or filter by priority and status (`open`, `done`, `declined`).
3. Complete work on your site or content stack.
4. Mark done in Genseo or decline with intent to skip.

Opportunities link **measurement** (prompts, citations, site issues) to **execution** without replacing your project management tool.

## With AI visibility

When [competitors](/visibility/competitors) or [citations](/visibility/citations-and-sources) show gaps, opportunities may reflect content or site fixes that help models mention and cite you. Use both views together when planning sprints.

## Agents and API

OAuth and API-key clients can list and update opportunities with explicit `project_id`. See `genseo_opportunities_*` in [MCP tool reference](/developers/mcp-tools).

## Frequently asked questions

### Are opportunities traditional SEO tasks?

They are prioritized actions tied to your Genseo project, often aligned with AI visibility gaps and site health. Genseo does not position itself as a classic SERP rank tracker.
