# Shopify

> Install the Genseo Shopify app and publish articles directly to your store blog

## Overview

Genseo now connects to Shopify through the official Genseo Shopify app. Install the app from the Shopify App Store, connect your subscription, choose your blog, and link the store to a Genseo project.

## Setting Up the Genseo Shopify App

### Step 1: Install the App

1. Open the [Genseo app in the Shopify App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/genseo)
2. Click **Install**
3. Review the requested permissions
4. Confirm the installation in Shopify

### Step 2: Choose Your Subscription

After installing the app, choose how you want to activate Genseo for your Shopify store:

1. Start a subscription through Shopify if you want to manage billing in Shopify
2. Click **Already have a subscription** if you already have an active Genseo subscription or want to manage your subscription in Genseo

### Step 3: Select Your Blog

1. Select the Shopify blog you want Genseo to publish articles to
2. Review the automatically mapped fields

Genseo maps the required Shopify blog fields automatically, so you do not need to configure field mapping manually.

### Step 4: Connect Shopify

1. Click **Connect**
2. Wait for Shopify and Genseo to finish the connection

### Step 5: Choose a Genseo Project

1. Select an existing Genseo project if you already have one
2. Create a new project if you want to start fresh

Your Shopify store is now connected to Genseo and ready for publishing.

## Publishing Articles

After successful setup, you can publish articles directly from Genseo to your Shopify blog:

1. Create or open an article in Genseo
2. Click **Publish**
3. Select **Shopify** as the destination
4. Confirm the publication

The article will be published to the Shopify blog you selected during setup.

## Common Issues

### App Installation Fails

**Problem**: The Genseo app cannot be installed from Shopify.

**Solution**:

* Make sure you are logged in with a Shopify account that can install apps
* Confirm that you are installing the app on the correct store
* Retry the installation from the [Genseo Shopify App Store listing](https://apps.shopify.com/genseo)

### Subscription Is Not Recognized

**Problem**: Shopify asks you to start a subscription even though you already have one in Genseo or want to manage your subscription in Genseo.

**Solution**:

* Click **Already have a subscription** during setup
* Sign in with the Genseo account that owns the active subscription
* Contact support if the active subscription still is not detected

### No Blog Is Available

**Problem**: You cannot select a Shopify blog during setup.

**Solution**:

* Make sure your Shopify store has at least one blog
* Refresh the setup flow after creating a blog in Shopify
* Confirm that the Genseo app installation completed successfully

### Connection or Project Selection Fails

**Problem**: The setup does not finish after clicking **Connect**, or you cannot select a Genseo project.

**Solution**:

* Refresh the page and restart the Shopify app setup
* Confirm that you are signed in to the correct Genseo account
* Select an existing project or create a new one before leaving the setup flow
* Contact support if the connection still does not complete
