# Framer

> Connect Genseo to Framer and sync articles directly to your CMS collection

## Overview

The Framer integration allows you to sync articles directly to your Framer CMS collection. This guide covers setup and syncing workflows.

## Setting Up the Framer Integration

### Step 1: Install the Genseo Plugin in Framer

1. Open the [Framer Plugin Marketplace](https://www.framer.com/marketplace/plugins/genseo/)
2. Search for **"Genseo"**
3. Click **Open Plugin**
4. Select your project

### Step 2: Create a Collection

1. After opening the plugin, Framer will automatically suggest creating a new collection
2. Create the collection as suggested

### Step 3: Generate API Key in Genseo

1. Go to your Genseo Dashboard
2. Navigate to **Integrations**
3. Click on **Framer**
4. Click **Generate new API Key**
5. Copy the generated API key

### Step 4: Connect in Framer

1. Return to the Framer app
2. Paste the API key you copied from Genseo
3. Click **Connect**

### Step 5: Sync Articles

After the connection is established:

1. Close the plugin app
2. In the Framer topbar, click **Sync** to sync your articles

  Framer does not support automatic publishing. You must manually open the collection and click **Sync** in the topbar each time you want to sync articles from Genseo.

## Syncing Articles

### Manual Sync Process

1. Open your Framer project
2. Navigate to the collection you connected with Genseo
3. Click **Sync** in the topbar
4. Your articles from Genseo will be synced to the collection

## Common Issues and Solutions

### Connection Failed

**Problem**: The API key doesn't work or connection fails.

**Solution**:

* Verify you copied the entire API key correctly
* Make sure you generated a new API key in Genseo
* Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

### Articles Not Syncing

**Problem**: Articles don't appear after clicking sync.

**Solution**:

* Ensure the collection is properly connected in Framer
* Verify the API key is still valid in Genseo
* Check that articles are published in Genseo before syncing
* Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

### Collection Not Found

**Problem**: Can't find the collection in Framer.

**Solution**:

* Make sure you created the collection when setting up the plugin
* Verify you're looking in the correct Framer project
* Try creating a new collection and reconnecting

## Best Practices

* **Regular syncing**: Since Framer doesn't support auto-publishing, set a reminder to sync regularly
* **Test first**: Sync a test article before syncing multiple articles
* **Monitor syncs**: Check your Framer collection after syncing to ensure articles appear correctly
